1994 RANGE ROVER 3.9 SE
My own vehicle bought 3 years ago and in my name and address.
One of 40 in BRG with Caramel interior piped brown.
This is a KA cross over chassis number and is fitted with. Brooklands kit ( from its inception).
The air suspension was removed and Bilstein dampers fitted by Overfinch who also replaced the knackered engine with what was reputedly an RPI 3. 9 litre, although I cannot definitively confirm this- the gentleman who ( in 2002) ordered the work has died , but his widow confirmed the work done.
I have two previous advertisements from previous owners which state that the current engine has not covered more than 40, 000 miles- however I cannot substantiate this.
I also have some 50 pages of loose invoices etc and old MOTs.
I have included pictures of the car before restoration which show the vehicle with its original wheels and tyres and badged as an Overfinch.
There is an Overfinch invoice dating from 2002 which confirms this and much more ( suspension work/ service etc).
The restoration work was begun as soon as I bought her and has just finished.
The final invoice will itemise all the work carried out, but to give some idea- the underside was completely restored from rear to front, necessitating fabrication of all rotten metal; the bodywork was stripped and painted in Aintree Green, which is the latest Discovery colour, rather than the original BRG shown in the ‘before’ pictures. The fluids have been changed and the vehicle given a thorough service; the air conditioning has been converted to run on the later gas, and works very well; the carpets and headlining were replaced by Nationwide trim and are superb- they also recovered the rear parcel shelf and matched the door cards with the same carpet – as per the original cars.
The car is also fitted with a factory sun roof which works.
The previous owner refurbished the wood and the steering wheel completes the ensemble.
I have had fitted discreet rear parking sensors and colour coded these to the bumper colour.
I have also fitted an unobtrusive dash cam, which may be removed if need be.
The central locking is new and is linked to a Thatchum alarm, which has two fobs.
The sidesteps are additions, but in period. These can be removed if desired.
Because of the work by Overfinch on the suspension, I had fitted 18” Land Rover Alloys – the Original Alloys ( within grabbers) will come with the car , and are in very good condition. ( Pictured).
A previous owner had an Alpine Bluetooth and radio fitted , which works well.
The car starts and drives exactly as it would have some 28 years ago, holds excellent water temperature due no less to the new aluminium radiator that was fitted during the restoration .
The MOT is completely clean with no advisories and expires July 2023.
Paperwork comprises two stamped service books, original Land Rover instruction manual, parts manual and some 50 sheets of loose invoices and old MOT’s as well as photographic documentation of the restoration which includes over 100 images on a USB stick.
I will consider px or swap with ( ideally) a 5. 0 litre petrol Autobiography, or, at a pinch, any interesting classic (Jaguar, Aston ). Cash is available for a more expensive car.
The car is situated in Muswell Hill North London.
